Privacy Policy

Last updated September 17, 2026. This describes the pilot release of Renewal Clock, a Springthrough product.

The short version

We collect what you type in and what Google tells us when you sign in. Nothing else.
No advertising, no analytics trackers, no selling or sharing your data with anyone for their own purposes.
Your certificates are private files. They are never public and never shown to other users.
You can export everything as JSON, or delete your account outright, from Settings at any time.
Do not put student, client, or patient information into this app. It is not built to hold it.

What we collect

From Google, when you sign in. Your name, email address, profile picture URL, and the tokens that keep you signed in. We ask Google only for your basic profile and email. We do not request access to your Gmail, Drive, contacts, or calendar.

What you enter. The credentials you track and their license or certificate numbers, your renewal cycle dates, and each course you log — title, provider, completion date, hours, format, how the hours are split across your credentials and buckets, whether a SCECH has been confirmed in MOECS, and any notes you add.

What you upload. Certificate images and PDFs, along with the original file name, file type, and size.

What the app generates. Frozen totals and a PDF transcript when you close out a renewal cycle, a record of reminder emails sent to you, and an audit log of actions taken on your account — what happened, who did it, and when. The audit log exists so that if someone at Springthrough ever accesses your account for support, there is a record of it.

Operational details. Your time zone, the date your account was created, and, if you arrived from a conference QR code or link, which one. That last item is a single short label such as massw, recorded once.

What we do not collect

There are no analytics scripts, advertising pixels, or third-party trackers on this site. We do not collect protected health information, and we do not want any. Courses are logged by title and provider, which describe your professional development, not anyone you serve. Please keep student, client, and patient details out of the notes fields.

Demo mode

The sample account at /demo requires no sign-in and never reaches our servers. It lives in your browser's local storage and disappears when you clear it or reset the demo. If you pick conference sessions in demo mode and later sign in, those picks are carried over from your browser so you do not have to re-enter them.

Why we hold it

To do the thing you asked for: track your hours against Michigan's requirements, keep your certificates together, produce an audit record, and email you before a renewal deadline. We also use it to keep the service running and secure, and to understand in aggregate how the pilot is going — for example, how many people signed up from a conference. We do not build advertising profiles and we do not make automated decisions about you.

Who else sees it

We use a small number of service providers, and only to run the product:

Google handles sign-in. Google sees that you signed in; Google does not receive your course records.
Our hosting and database providers store the application and your records.
Our email provider delivers reminder emails, which name your credential and how many hours you have logged.

Springthrough staff can access account data where it is necessary to operate or support the service, and that access is written to the audit log. We do not sell your data, rent it, or hand it to anyone for their own marketing. We will disclose data if the law requires it, and we will tell you unless we are forbidden from doing so.

Renewal Clock is not affiliated with LARA, MDE, or MOECS, and sends nothing to them. Reporting your hours to the state remains yours to do.

Where it lives

Your records are stored in the United States. Certificates are held in private file storage and served only to you, through an authenticated request tied to your account.

How long we keep it

For as long as you keep your account, because the point of the product is a multi-year record — Michigan expects you to be able to produce proof of continuing education years after a renewal. When you delete your account we remove your profile, credentials, courses, cycles, uploaded certificates, generated transcripts, and reminder history. Audit log entries are retained with your identity removed, so that a record that something happened survives without pointing at you.

Your choices

Export. Settings gives you a complete JSON export of your account.
Delete. Settings deletes your account and its data. It is immediate and cannot be undone.
Correct. Every field is editable in the app.
Reminders. Turn them off per credential in Settings.
Sign-in. You can revoke this app's access from your Google account settings at any time.

Cookies

One cookie, to keep you signed in. It expires after 30 days or when you sign out. There are no advertising or analytics cookies. Demo mode uses your browser's local storage instead, which never leaves your device.

Children

Renewal Clock is for licensed professionals and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will update the date above and, for anything significant, email people with accounts rather than quietly editing the page.
