Terms of Service

Last updated September 17, 2026. By using Renewal Clock you agree to these terms.

The short version

What this is

Renewal Clock helps Michigan school social workers record continuing education against a LARA social work license and an MDE school social worker certificate. It is operated by Springthrough. It is not affiliated with the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs, the Michigan Department of Education, MOECS, or the Michigan Association of School Social Workers, and it is not endorsed by any of them.

What this is not

It does not submit anything to LARA, MDE, or MOECS on your behalf, and using it is not a substitute for doing so. It does not give legal, licensing, or professional advice. The requirement values in the app are our reading of published state sources on the date shown beside them in the footer, and rules change. You should confirm your own requirements with LARA and MDE, and confirm your SCECHs in MOECS. If what the app shows disagrees with the state, the state is right.

You remain responsible for retaining your original certificates and proof of attendance for as long as the state requires, whatever this app happens to be holding.

Your account

You sign in with a Google account, and you are responsible for keeping access to it secure. Accounts are for one person. Give us accurate information about your credentials, since the whole product depends on it. You must be at least 18.

Acceptable use

Do not:

Your data

Your records and uploads remain yours. You give us permission to store, process, and display them for the sole purpose of running the service for you — nothing more. We do not use your content to advertise, and we do not sell it. The Privacy Policy describes what we hold and who touches it.

Pilot status, availability, and price

Renewal Clock is free while it is in pilot. We may introduce paid plans later; if we do, we will give people with accounts notice before anything they rely on starts costing money. During the pilot there is no uptime commitment and no support commitment, features may change or be removed, and we may suspend or discontinue the service. If we discontinue it, we will give reasonable notice and a way to export your data first.

Ending it

You can delete your account from Settings at any time, which removes your data as described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate an account that breaks these terms or puts the service or other people at risk.

Disclaimer

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that the requirement values it shows are current or complete.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Springthrough is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or any regulatory consequence of a lapsed, denied, or sanctioned license or certificate, arising out of your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for it in the twelve months before the claim, or one hundred dollars. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, in which case the ones that are not allowed do not apply to you.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will change the date above, and for material changes we will email people with accounts. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept it.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and the state and federal courts located in Michigan are the venue for any dispute.
